Paul Richardson, AIFP, Managing Director, ISO 22222 Certified Financial Planner
Background
I have 18 years experience in the financial services industry. During this time I have gained numerous qualifications, all of which not only added to my knowledge and experience but have also enabled me to give my clients professional advice regarding their financial plans.
In 2000 I decided to broaden my skills and knowledge of the financial sector and joined a major life insurance company as an account manager specialising in pensions and investments. I studied for the Certificate in Financial Planning and the pensions specialised papers, this is where I gained a valuable insight into the provision of financial advice.
In 2005 I entered the financial advice market with a small independent firm. Through my knowledge and experience I was inspired to set up Concept Financial Planning in 2007 providing quality and professional financial planning advice to both individuals and corporate clients.
Approach
Our advisory team have the breath and depth of skills and experience to provide our clients with a holistic planning service that recognises the interplay between the different areas of financial planning. My main areas of expertise are retirement planning and investment management. As well as advising clients, I also work with other financial advisers in providing advice in relation to final salary schemes and also work on a voluntary basis for the Pensions Advisory Service.
My clients work hard to earn their wealth and want to preserve it which means avoiding losses and minimising the tax liability. There are many ways to do this and I work on various opportunities to realise this.
I firmly believe that everyone needs a financial plan and the future should not be left to chance. It is my role to outline all the available options and to highlight the potential disadvantages as well as the benefits of each course of action so that clients can make informed decisions and face the future with confidence. Going forward I seek to forge a long term partnership with my clients to ensure they achieve their goals.
I am an Associate member of the Institute of Financial Planning. In June 2009 I was awarded the ISO 22222 Certification. This is an internationally agreed benchmark that assesses and awards financial planners who can demonstrate that they have knowledge, skills, experience and ethical values to deliver a first class service to their clients.
I work with many different types of clients but they all have one common theme – they take their financial planning seriously and are all working towards their individual goals. The goals are diversed but with a well-structured financial plan, regular reviews and open communication, my clients are able to achieve the financial freedom they are aiming for.
