Background
I began my career in the financial service industry in 1989 and joined Albany Life Assurance as clerk/typist. I worked at Albany Life for 9 years and through that time, I became Senior Branch Administrator until the closure of the branch in 1998.
In 1998, I joined Standard Life as Consultant Support Manager and was responsible for a team of 10 support staff, with the aim of providing quality pre-sales service to account managers and IFAs. I worked at Standard Life until the end of 2004 when the branch closed and relocated. It is during my time at Standard Life that I first worked alongside Paul Richardson.
After leaving Standard Life, in 2005 I joined Friends Provident as IFA Support. This was a new challenge for me, but something I really enjoyed. I was responsible for providing effective sales support to my 2 account managers and maximising the business potential of a targeted panel of IFAs through proactive telephone sales.
Approach
I took the opportunity shortly after leaving Friends Provident and with 19 years working for large life offices, to work for the people I had spent all my career supporting. I joined Concept Financial Planning as Personal Assistant to the Managing Director, Paul Richardson.
I support Paul in his advisory work with both private and corporate clients, including the collation of information, liaising with product providers and investment houses to make sure that our service standards are maintained, producing standard and non-standard reports, including the construction of suitability reports for clients.
I also update investment research on a monthly basis using our in house systems and attend our quarterly investment meetings. I liaise with our Compliance Consultant to ensure our administration processes, internal and external standards are adhered to.
I enjoy reading and films in my spare time and travelling and experiencing new places.
